ok, here's what it looks like

realtor's photo of our new house
now that we have an inspection set up and a closing date, i have decided it's safe to post a picture of the house. i am still not allowing myself to get excited, but i AM shopping for refridgerators. the hippie--he's shopping for televisions instead. i guess we all have our own ways of nesting. anyway--cross your fingers that things go smoothly this time around. if they do, in a month, we'll be homeowners. whoo hoo.* now all i need is for someone to give me a $20k furniture allowance, and i will be all good.

* see how there's no explanation point there? that's me, not being excited. not excited at all...

What a beautiful home! We looked at one that looked like that a few years age. I love that bungalow style.

What a nice house! Double garage, covered front porch, very nice. Keeping appendages crossed for ya. And in case you were worried, I detected NO excitement in that post whatsoever. None.

Good luck! I will keep my fingers crossed for you and the Hippie.

For what it's worth, my own hippie and I went through 4 (4!!!!) failed contracts before we got our dream heap -- which we later systematically pulled down and rebuilt while we were living in it. Whew! Here in DC the real estate thing is fierce, so we learned to not take any of the realtor shenanigans too personally. The home inspectors are the ones I watched like a hawk, though!

Hang in there. I love your blog!

GAH! HAPPY! EXCITED!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Sweet front porch! LOVE the style. AWW! I can totally see your bookcases in that house! hehe *phew* Calm. Calm. Calm.

I've bought a few houses. And I am telling you... I couldn't bear to do it many more times in my life. It's one of the most emotional things I've EVER DONE besides give birth. Seriously. VERY emotional thing for me!

And it's your first. Aww. Enjoy the thrill and excitement and anticipation of every last moment. It'll never be your first time again ya know. heh :)
